Investigation review into alleged potential conflicts of interest - page 2 of 2

21 February 2017

Trust statement:

“We can confirm that Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust commissioned an independent external investigation into allegations made against
the Trust and two of its consultants, Mr Stephen Lake and Mr Steve Pandey.

"The independent external review found no evidence of wrongdoing or conflict of interest on the part of the two consultants. We would like to thank both Mr Pandey and Mr Lake for their open approach and willingness to take part in the investigation.

The Trust recognises that prior to 2015/16 it failed to put in place robust procedures to record and update corporate registers with medical staff’s declaration of interests. All consultants are now expected to complete a declaration of interest when appointed and are expected to update their declarations of interest on a regular basis.”
